Josef Chromy

Josef Chromy OAM has owned and developed some of Tasmania’s leading vineyards, including Rochecombe (now Bay of Fires), Jansz, Heemskerk and Tamar Ridge.

Launched in 2007, Josef Chromy Wines is the culmination of Josef’s experience in Tasmania. A state-of the-art winery sits alongside the 61 ha vineyard in northern Tasmania, producing premium fruit that is masterfully vinified, bottled and aged on-site under the guidance of Chief Winemaker Ockie Myburgh.

In recent years, Josef Chromy Wines has emerged as one of Tasmania’s pre-eminent traditional method sparkling wine producers and is one of the largest to make these wholly ‘on-island’. Proudly producing a premium range of sparkling wines, aromatics and vibrant Pinot Noirs under the Pepik, Josef Chromy and Zdar labels.
